How to Remove a Link From Your Instagram Bio

Understanding Instagram bio links

An Instagram bio link can lead to a shop, event, sign-up page, or your latest work. It gives visitors a clear next step. But an old link may point to a closed offer or a page that has moved.

Review your links when a campaign ends, a page changes, or your goal shifts. For example, you might swap a launch page for a booking page. If you have several saved links, check each one before removing it.

It also helps to know where the address sits. Instagram lets many users add saved links through profile editing. A web address typed into the bio text is separate, so removing one will not remove the other.

How to delete a link from your Instagram bio

These steps work in the Instagram app on most current iPhones and Android phones. Menu names can vary a little by app version. The process is brief.

1. Open your profile. Tap your profile picture in the lower corner of the app.
2. Go to profile editing. Tap Edit profile beneath your bio.
3. Open saved links. Tap Links to view links tied to your profile.
4. Choose the link. Tap the address you no longer want to show.
5. Remove and save. Tap Remove link, confirm if asked, then tap Done or Save.

Return to your profile and check the link area. The removed address should no longer appear. If you are searching how to delete link from Instagram bio, these steps cover saved links in the app.

For how to delete link in bio Instagram, check both the Links list and the bio text. A web address typed into the bio field must be deleted there. Edit the bio, remove the address, then save your changes.

Other ways to edit your Instagram bio

You can edit profile details on Instagram’s website as well. Sign in, open your profile, and choose Edit profile. Look for a website or links field, remove the address, and save.

The website may show different controls from the app. Some accounts may have a separate Links option. If you cannot find the link field, use the app and check the saved links there.

You do not always need to remove a saved link. To keep it but change its destination, open it in the Links section and edit the web address or title. Save the change, then open the link to test it.

Instagram and TikTok do not use the same profile fields. If you want to know how to delete a link from TikTok bio, open TikTok, go to your profile, and tap Edit profile. If your account has a website field, remove the address and save.

For how to delete link in TikTok bio, check the bio text too. TikTok account types and app versions may show different options. If there is no website field, that link may not be editable on your account.

Common problems when removing a link

A link can seem to remain if it appears in two places. Check the saved Links list and the bio text. Then view your public profile, rather than relying only on the edit screen.

If the change does not show, close and reopen the app. Check your connection and make sure you tapped Done or Save. A refresh can also clear an old view in your browser.

• Wrong field: You edited the bio text but not the saved link, or the other way around.
• Wrong address: You removed a useful link by mistake. Add it again if needed.
• Change not saved: You left the screen before tapping Done or Save.
• Old profile view: Refresh the page or reopen the app to see the latest change.

If you cannot edit your profile, update the app and try again. Check whether your account has a temporary limit. Avoid making the same change again and again in quick succession.

Keep your bio links useful

Choose links based on what visitors should do next. A shop might feature its current collection. A freelancer might share a booking page. One clear next step can be easier to act on than a long list.

Set a simple review habit. Check each link when a campaign ends, a page moves, or your profile goals change. For a short offer, set a reminder to remove or replace its link when the offer closes.

If you use a link page, keep its choices short and test each destination on a phone. Remove dead pages, old promotions, and links that no longer fit. If click data is available, use it to see which links people choose.

Before you finish, open your public profile and tap each link that remains. Check that every page loads and works on a phone. That last check helps visitors reach the right place.

These habits make bio link management less of a cleanup task. A quick review can keep your profile current and help each link serve a clear purpose.
